Research

We carry out research in legal and political sciences applied to Eastern Europe, Russia, FSU. Our members publish their works in established academic journals or publishers. We also undertake other research-related activities including (but not limited to) the following: conferences, workshops and seminars, publications, academic exchanges. The research group is constantly engaged in fundraising and is able to submit projects and applications to relevant, Italian, EU and international funding bodies also in cooperation with new partners.
 

Conferences and seminars

The research group organises conferences, panels, seminars and workshops.
We have taken part as speakers at the HSE Law Summer School and Conference in July 2020.
Currently, we are convening a panel for the Juris Diversitas Conference in Catania 2021, concerning the post-soviet institutional change and a workshop concerning the Balkans and the EHRC at Turin University in the academic year 2020-2021.
 

Teaching and supervision

We teach modules on law and politics of Russia and Eastern Europe and provide graduate, master and doctoral supervision. Students interested in our courses, and dissertation supervision can contact us for more information.
 

Erasmus Programmes

We have obtained funding under the Erasmus Plus Programmes of the European Union to support exchanges of students, PhDs and researchers with Higher School of Economics (HSE), Department of Public Policy and Department of Law in Moscow and St. Petersburg and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Additionally, we are running many Erasmus intra-EU exchanges with universities in Central and Eastern Europe.
 

Academic exchanges

Scholars and students from EU or international universities can apply for visiting periods to do research in our structures and contribute to our seminars. Visiting fellows and students will have access to the research group academic resources at Campus Luigi Einaudi (CLE). The research group cannot cover expenses for accommodation, living, travel etc. but some advice can be provided.
 

Media

The research group members are available to comment on issues of law and politics of Eastern Europe, Russia and FSU for media and newspapers.
