The Research Group on Law & Politics in Eastern Europe is based at the University of Turin and deals with the evolution of law and politics of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and FSU (Former Soviet Union). While acknowledging the academic traditions in the study of the legal systems of Eastern Europe, the research group extends the scope of the legal investigation to political and social aspects as to achieve a more comprehensive explanation of the systemic transformations in this area. Our target is the enhancement of the studies on legal and political systems of Eastern Europe, through novel analytical strategies and international partnerships. This research group has been set up within a project funded by the Compagnia di San Paolo (WhyEurope: European Integration and the Southern Balkans).
